If you're currently studying towards an IT, computer science, design/web design, business or psychology degree have you considered doing an HMRC Industrial Placement?

A great chance to learn on the job skills, work on real projects and get paid a salary.

Our HMRC digital 2020 Industrial Placement Scheme is open for placements starting in September 2020.

This year we have

  • 22 placements on offer
  • in 9 locations
  • with 12 different roles

Each industrial placement will be employed for 9-12 months and earn a salary of £24,818 (National); £28,706 (London) pro rata.

Governance & Insight Officer Telford or Newcastle The Project Portfolio Management function supports change delivery by developing, implementing, and managing an assurance framework and processes.

Effectively support existing controls and processes and look for opportunities to continuously improve these and support the definition, design and delivery of new processes, controls and associated guidance and support products.

Interrogate data to support effective capacity, demand and resource planning to provide data, information and insight (via reports) to enable effective decision making within the organisation.

Associate Front End Developer Newcastle, Shipley, Telford or Worthing As an Associate Front End Developer,
you will work with other front end developers, designers, software developers, user researchers, product managers and business analysts to help build prototype and production services.You will have an awareness of building simple services to modern standards. You will have a love of the web and its possibilities, a passion for development and writing clear and consistent code that works across devices and browsers. You will proactively seek new learning opportunities and welcome constructive criticism of your work.

Cyber Analyst Telford or Shipley The Cyber Intelligence Analyst plays a pivotal role in our cyber security command centres.

The role includes but is not limited to cyber incident handling, threat hunting, cyber intelligence, digital forensics, and analysis and monitoring of the HMRC environment in real time.

The analyst will be responsible for successfully leveraging security data from internal sensors in an effort to implement effective mitigations and reviewing appropriate data sources for indications of adversary.

Project Support Officer Telford, Shipley, Liverpool, Newcastle, Southend or Edinburgh The role of a Project Support Officer is to support the successful delivery of projects to time, cost and quality, ensuring all approved processes are followed and
key milestones met.The Project Support Officer will also support risks and issues management, and support project plans and engagement with key stakeholders.

Service Designer London, Newcastle or Worthing As an Associate Service Designer, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, alongside policy experts, user researchers, designers, product managers and technology experts, to develop innovative approaches for integrated services across HMRC and government.

IT Project Manager Newcastle Within this role you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of medium scale or high impact projects which support the HMRC’s strategic objectives.

Working in a complex environment and against a backdrop of large scale change you will support the project manager for the end to end delivery of business initiatives, systems integration and change projects from definition, and initiation, through to successful completion.

It is expected that the candidate will gain exposure to a variety of projects and programmes of different sizes, some of which support some of the department’s most important strategic initiatives and priorities.

DevOps Engineer Bristol As a DevOps Engineer you will be working within an exciting dynamic driven team who will guide and support the vision responsible for innovative solutions, working with up to date technologies via automation and transition of code throughout the delivery life cycle.

You will demonstrate the ability to perform a range of complex and non-routine work under the general direction from your manager.

 

You will engage and work closely with other technical teams in developing and deploying code using a continuous integration/delivery pipeline enabling the rapid delivery to live of new and enhanced solutions and their ongoing support and maintenance.

Reporting Analyst Telford The Reporting Analyst will be responsible for running existing reporting and dashboards and supporting the creation of new reports to meeting organisation needs.

 

Support the build of all standardised reporting onto the strategic reporting platform(s) to ensure automation of frequently run reports.

 

Working closely with Reporting Analysts, Planning and Performance Partners, Reporting Lead, Data and Insight Analysts and Data Suppliers to deliver and continually improve the current report offering, and to understand reporting needs and how effective analysis can be supported.

Strong technical reporting and data analysis skills, including technical skills such as SQL & DAX
