I recently attended Computing's inaugural DevOps Excellence Awards in London. They’re designed to showcase outstanding achievement from organisations, personalities and solutions operating within the DevOps space.
I am delighted to say that HMRC digital won the award for Best use of Agile, seeing off strong competition from the private sector. This is great public recognition of our hard work on creating the digital tax platform that supports our digital centres across the country to build and deliver great services for our personal and business customers.
Many organisations today see the benefits of implementing a DevOps culture, with faster, more iterative software releases, more innovation and more nimble service delivery, and we are really seeing that in the way we can quickly deliver and evolve our digital services.
We have worked hard in the last few years within HMRC to transform the way we deliver and operate our IT services, which is helping us develop great digital services and APIs for our customers. We’ve succeeded in building a strong DevOps culture within our digital teams, something we’re very proud of and which ultimately helps our customers. We’re now working with our colleagues right across HMRC to help promote DevOps principles throughout our wider IT community.
